Suitable Transformers
Minipower lamps have been tested and found to be suitable for application on all electronic transformers used around the world.
Important:
Minipower is not suitable for Magnetic (iron core) transformers yet, but at a small cost you can convert your magnetic transformers to electronic transformers that are known to be more efficient than magnetic (Iron Core) plus most magnetic transformers were installed a long time ago and many of them have almost reached their use by date.
CHANGING YOUR EXISTING DOWN LIGHT KIT TO MINIPOWER 12v 9w DOWN LIGHT KIT
Since most down light fittings change colour due to intense heat from 12v 50w halogen lamps, it is important to consider Minipower down light KIT. Minipower KITS are subsidised to help you with the cost of replacing your old down light kit.
Installation:
We recommend that you enlist the services of a qualified electrician if you are unsure of your requirements. If you have the old Magnetic (iron core) transformers, you will need a qualified electrician to upgrade to the more efficient electronic transformers.
Old Down Light Kits:
A lot of the old down light kits came with GIMBLE (adjustable) down light fittings which are expensive to run with high cost of heating and cooling plus un-healthy insulation fibres that fall through the down light gap.(For more info go to the Your Health tab)
